The very first time I visited England on holiday as a youth, I knew I wanted to live there and do something with languages. So I left Berlin for Exeter in England’s West Country. After completing my BA and the teacher training, I realised quickly that working in a comprehensive school in rural England wasn't for me so I expanded on my love of languages with the MA in Applied Translation as well as by studying for the Diploma in Translation.
That was over 20 years ago – and about 6 million words in thousands of projects – and I’ve never looked back! Being able to communicate my clients’ message to a global audience, helping their brand stand out and getting them the results their business needs to thrive is a wonderful feeling and an absolute joy! I’m proud to have served many of the leading companies in the areas of medical products and IT.
My questions to you:
If so, then I'm the answer. I will help you. Decades of translation experience coupled with in-depth subject-knowledge has taught me exactly how to convey your message, in the right context, following your guidelines to reflect your brand's mission and values.

I’ve lived in the UK since 1997 and am fully immersed in the culture here. This helps me to use nuanced language that fits the context, meaning your text will sound natural rather than clunky or seem like a poorly dubbed foreign film where the words aren't quite in sync with what you're trying to communicate. |
What I stand for:
DipTrans - In 2007, I was awarded the Diploma in Translation by the Institute of Linguists and I was accepted for Membership. |
MA in Applied Translation - In 2006, I decided to further my Translation Studies with the help of the Masters in Applied Translation at the University of Exeter. I passed this course and I graduated in January 2008. The dissertation was a translation of 15000 words from the Finance/Credit Management area. BA (Hons) - From 1998 to 2001, I took my Single Honours degree in German with Complementary Italian at Exeter University. This also included a month living in Florence. |
Sports Science - In early 2021, I decided to enrol in a Sports Science course, which I completed online. The eight modules included subjects such as functional anatomy, biomechanics, nutrition and exercise physiology. This was of particular personal interest to me as well as being related to my medical products work.
