I will firstly listen very carefully to your concept as well as the context the project is in and to what you're actually looking for. During the translation process, I will read the text thoroughly to avoid misunderstandings and seek clarification. If provided, I will follow your terminology and style guide. Then I will conduct extensive research on the subject and word use. On completion and after the Quality Assurance check, all translations into English will be read once more by an in-house native speaker to make sure everything sounds perfectly smooth and is exemplary in every respect. I will then go through the entire work one more time. After you have received the translation, I’m happy to respond to any queries you may have, discuss word choices and options, and tweak the text if needed.

English and German Translation Services

Prices will depend on the subject, complexity, urgency and format of your text. I’d be happy to explain the process and everything that’s included in a quick Zoom call before we proceed. Please send your file via email or using the form on the right so that I can have a look and provide an accurate quote with a suggested deadline. This is free and non-binding. Word and Excel are preferable as these are editable, whereas PDF, for example, can cause problems with layout.

Proofreading of German or English Texts

Proofreading is charged by the hour. For the best results, I would also like to see the original your text is based on, unless, of course, you wrote it from scratch. Then we can always discuss potential ambiguities or anything that may need to be clarified.

Post-Editing Machine Translation

The rate for this is based on the time it takes to make the machine or AI translation sound like a real human would express something, in natural language, matching the context, rather than generic words that were predicted rather than carefully selected. I’d be happy to use your software if you have a specifically trained Translation Memory and tools.
